Have you heard of the terms 'powder brows' or ‘ombre brows'?
Each of these is created using this method of tattooing.
Machine brows are created using a tattoo machine, however we use different needles and ink to that of a traditional tattoo, which allows the treatment to become semi-permanent. This method of is less invasive and ideal for all skin types. Machine method brows provide a ‘filled-in’ look, which looks like a powdered make-up brow. The beauty of this method is that we can build up the amount of shading within the brow and therefore can create various depths of colour; from a speckled lightly filled in brow, to a heavy powder finish!
We can combine hair strokes and machine shading to create a combination eyebrow which is great for fluffiness but also provides fullness and depth! (This is our most popular style).
Microblading is done by using a disposable hand tool with ultra fine pins and each 'hair' is gently scratched into the skin, giving a minimalist look.
This method is ideal for those with brow hair which is sparse as it is used to fill in gaps. Microblading is not suitable if you want a fuller or defined look.
Each hair stroke created mimics your own brow hair and will flow beautifully. Microblading is ideal for those who just want a little something, but not all skin types are suitable for this treatment, the best results will be for those with dry skin.
If you don't have much brow hair naturally, microblading can look quite obvious as it is sparse lines on your skin, so some shading may be needed to add depth.
The answer to both of these questions is the same. We do not offer correctional services / top ups to eyebrows done elsewhere, unless the pigment is completely faded and we feel able enough to go over the brows without being able to see the previous pigment underneath.
PLEASE let us know before booking if you have had it done previously.
A top up of someone else's work, whether that be microblading or machine will be classed as a new set of brows and therefore will be charged the full cost and will include a top up appointment.
IF we cannot work over the old pigment as it is not faded enough or the work done is un-symmetrical or done incorrectly, we have the option to lighten your old pigment using a saline solution. After a few sessions, the pigment may be light enough for us to work over and give you the perfect brows you were looking for.
Microblading results vary on each individual. Microblading is not recommended for those with oily skin. In normal skin, microbladed eyebrows can be expected to last 9 - 12 months before a top up is needed. Dry skin will typically hold the pigment longer ranging from 12 - 18 months.
Annual colour boosts are recommended to keep the colour looking fresh.
Machine method brows typically last longer.
As with any tattoo, there will be some level of discomfort which will vary from person to person. However the discomfort is minimal for all micropigmentation treatments and a numbing agent will be used throughout.
The majority of clients feel very little at all throughout the treatments.
We occasionally run offers throughout various times of the year, but these are posted on our social media pages, so please follow these to see the latest promotions. You can also subscribe to our mailing list where you will be the first to hear about any offers we have!

At Blush & Blade we will only carry out a semi-permanent makeup procedure if we know you are 100% happy with everything. Those who seem unsure or can't decide what they want will not be treated and we will ask you to come back another time after having thought about whether this is what you really want to have done.
We discuss in detail at your consultation what it is you want to achieve and we will always tell you whether you will be able to get the result you want. You will be involved in every step of the process. Both client and technician must be thoroughly happy with the stencil before the treatment begins and we will always discuss colours. Therefore nothing will be a shock or surprise and we guarantee you will love your new brows or lips!
If you have had semi-permanent micropigmentation (microblading or machine) done elsewhere, and dislike the result, we can lighten / remove this for you using a saline solution. So please do not worry. Removal is also completely pain-free.
Our brow treatments take around 2 hours to complete, with the top up appointment lasting around 1 hour.
Our lip blush treatment takes slightly longer and the initial appointment may last around 2.5 hours and the top up / review session for this may take around 1.5 hours.
Eyeliner appointments can take between 1.5 and 2.5 hours depending on whether you are having a lash line enhancement or a winged liner.
Please ensure you are free for the entire duration as we cannot rush the treatment.
